🍽️ Too Much on Ya Plate! When Passion Turns to Pressure...

You ever hit that point where your mind’s racing your worried about this and that and full of fear of the worst, your heart’s tired,  and you’re trying to do ten things at once — but somehow, you’re still not caught up? Yeah… that’s me right now.

I’ve got so much on my plate I can’t even see the edges anymore. Between my art, my store, maintenance on my vehicles, photography, music, the business, organization of my home, paying the bills, and just trying to keep life together, it feels like I’m juggling more than I can hold. I’m grateful — truly — but even blessings can get heavy when you try to carry them all at once.

I’ve always been that “do it all” kind of person. If there’s an idea, I chase it. If there’s a dream, I build it. But somewhere along the line, passion can start to feel like pressure. What used to fill me with joy starts to weigh me down — not because I don’t love it, but because I’m trying to do it all right now.

And if I’m being real… sometimes I forget to breathe in the middle of it. I forget to rest. I forget that I’m human. I forget that somehow, some way, God always provides and that things always work out for the best in the midst of all your chaos.

The truth is, none of us can pour from an empty cup. You can’t create, love, or shine when you’re running on fumes. I’ve had to remind myself lately that slowing down doesn’t mean giving up — it means recharging so I can keep giving my best.

Grace over grind, always. You can’t grow flowers in dry soil.

So though it's hard to put it aside for a moment to breathe. I'm learning to set things down for a minute — even the good things — and trust that they’ll still be there when I’m ready to pick them back up.

If you’re like me and you’ve been trying to do it all, here’s your permission slip to stop for a second. Rest. Breathe. Refill your cup. You don’t have to earn peace — you just have to let yourself have it.Your worth isn’t measured by how much you do or how fast you move. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is give yourself a moment of stillness. Like going for a slow walk around the neighborhood, sitting on the ground and listening to the wind in the trees as the leaves change color for fall. Hear the birds singing, tune into the rustle of nature doing its thing, or the soft music of a wind chime dancing in the breeze. Those moments — quiet, simple, real — are the ones that bring your spirit back home.

Living the SoulShine way means giving yourself grace in the chaos. It means knowing when to push and when to pause. It’s okay to admit when you’re overwhelmed — that’s not weakness, that’s wisdom.

I’m learning that balance isn’t about doing everything — it’s about doing what matters most, with heart. And yet it's hard, sometimes, the most soulful thing you can do is just stop, take a deep breath, and let God remind you that you’re right where you need to be.

So here’s to everyone with too much on their plate:
Your not alone! Take a bite, set the rest aside, and know it’s okay to come back for seconds later. You’re not behind — you’re just human. And that’s more than enough. 🤍

I needed this. I needed to be reminded that there is always calm if you just sit still. Give yourself grace Amanda. I think with all the chaos going on I forgot to stop and take care of me. I matter and you are correct I can not pour from an empty cup. God bless you and thank you for the kind words
